“He who was seated on the throne said, ‘I am making everything new!’” Revelation 21:5a.
He didn’t say He would made new things but that He would make everything new. Imagine that! What will it be like when God has renewed everything?
People will be renewed. They will be perfect, like Adam was before he sinned, clothed in God’s glory, living in harmony with God and the world; no conflicts, no misunderstandings, no cruelty or abuse, no pain or sickness, no sorrow, fear, anxiety or emotional pain, and no more death!
Creatures will be renewed. Predators will eat plants. The lion and the lamb will lie down together. I will pat my favourite animal – the tiger – without being eaten! Think of all the favourite animals you’ll be able to have as pets without their dying because they get old or sick.
The ground will be renewed. For you garden lovers – gardening will be easy. Bugs won’t eat your plants and you won’t have to wage war against weeds! Flowers will flourish and fruit will be abundant and luscious. Think of the veggies you’ll be able to grow!
The earth will be renewed. It will be more beautiful than you can ever imagine. The weather will be perfect. There won’t be storms, hurricanes, tornados, floods, wind and fire to destroy; no more need of the sun and moon for light; only the light of God’s presence bringing peace and harmony to everything everywhere.
Even the cosmos will be renewed. All the heavenly bodies will be restored to perfection, and all will sing together in a universal song of praise to God.
The amazing thing is that God has already begun His work of restoration in you.
“…You have taken off your old self with its practices and put on the new self which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.” Colossians 3:10 (NIV).
He is not waiting until after you die to get busy on you. From the moment you believed that Jesus is the Son of God and handed the reins of your life to Him, He has been renewing you. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV).
What must you do? Only one thing; trust Him in all the circumstances of your life. He knows what He doing and He is in charge!
“…Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6
